- Q: : Is it okay if I take more than 1 serving of 4TOTAL NUTRITION ™ each day?
- A: Individuals that weigh over 200 lbs., who are very active, who are under a lot of stress or have an illness, or those who have impaired nutrient absorption may have increased needs for nutrients and can take2 servings (2 fl oz) per day.
- Q: What is the best way to take 4TOTAL NUTRITION™?
- A: A serving of 4TOTAL NUTRITION™ is 1 fl oz, or 2 measuring Tablespoons. It can be taken straight, or mixed into a glass of drinking water or juice. It can be taken with breakfast, and again with either lunch or dinner.
- Q: Is this a good prenatal multivitamin-mineral supplement?
- A: Unfortunately, we do not recommend that the 4TOTAL NUTRITION™ be taken during pregnancy. This is because pregnant women need to exercise caution when taking supplements with herbs, since many are not recommended for women who are pregnant. Please consult your physician or pharmacist about supplementation during pregnancy.
- Q: Can my kids take the 4TOTAL NUTRITION™? If so, what is the serving size?
- A: Yes, the 4TOTAL NUTRITION™ can be given to children. We recommend basing the serving on the child's body weight. Children weighing more than 100 pounds can take an adult serving of 1 fl oz (2 TBSP). Children between 50-100 lb. would need 1 ½ TBS. For children less than 50 lbs. (25-30 lbs), the recommended servings is 1.5-2 teaspoons.
- Q: Why isn't there iron in the 4TOTAL NUTRITION™?
- A: There are several reasons iron is not part of this formula. One is that iron needs differ for men, women, and children. Secondly, there is potential for iron overload when using iron supplements since very little iron is excreted from the body. Subsequently, iron can accumulate in body tissues and organs when storage sites are full. Furthermore, there are individuals with a genetic condition that need to be concerned with iron toxicity. There is also some controversy among researchers about iron promoting the production of free radicals, and possible interactions between iron, zinc, and calcium. For these reasons, Genesis Today decided against its addition in this formula.
