Q&A About Liquid Coral Calcium

Q: Why do I need to supplement calcium? Don't I get enough calcium from my diet?
A: The Recommended Daily Requirement for adults is 1,000mg of absorbable calcium per day, and 1,200mg a day for women who are pregnant and lactating. This amount might be achieved if one consumes plenty of milk, yogurt and cheese on a daily basis. However, this amount is challenging to reach if one does not consume a large amount of dairy, or if on a dairy-free diet (due to an intolerance, sensitivity or allergy to dairy products), in which case, supplementation is necessary.
Q: What happens if I don't get enough calcium in my diet?
A: A calcium deficiency can result in an increased risk for anxiety, restlessness, leg cramps, poor sleep, high blood pressure, thinning bones or osteoporosis, or other serious health conditions! It is, therefore, very important to be sure an adequate calcium intake is achieved either through diet and/or supplementation.
Q: Is the coral reef damaged when obtaining the coral calcium?
A: Absolutely not! The coral is collected from fossilized coral that is from an above-ground source, and no living coral in the reefs is damaged in the collection process. The entire process is overseen by the Japanese government to ensure the continued preservation of the living coral reefs.
